Has anyone heard of / had ever implemented payment by SMS?
Eg... user sends an SMS to a specific number, and then an reply SMS is sent to their phone with a code that they have to type to the job board to complete their order?
I had a look at a few sites:
http://www.smskambi.com/en/
http://www.boku.com/
http://www.daopay.com/
http://www.zaypay.com/public/en/docs/overview
This would be really great for countries where credit cards are not often used.
I'm currently leaning towards choosing daopay - they cover 200 countries.
Any suggestions?

Sounds really good and something I have been thinking of long and hard.

This is a great start and could it be progressed as Jamit would need some output to a SMS gateway and therefore could not only payments be made by SMS how about the email and SMS notification of job alerts etc.

I do this by hand at the moments and is a laborious job, but I get results by SMS notifications where as email notifications get put in spam folders a text sent with the users first name as a greeting gets attention. Also users change email addresses more the their mobile numbers.

Great idea SMS

pilot, thanks, but I think sms alerts belongs in a different thread / board. I wanted to ask about sms / mobile payments and if anyone had ever tried the sites listed or recommends any others... thanks!

I do use SMS payment and did buy some applications for my Blackberry. I did not use it for nearly a year after that, but I do get sms alert on every transaction I do. This is all by using Paypal Mobile.

I have not tried any other payment systems so far. If this were implemented, JJB would be the first to come out with advanced payment systems.

Good Luck n looking forward to try it out.

Thanks.

But the problem with sms is that the max payment can be like 10 EURO or something? I doubt they allow payments of 500 EURO.

But anyway this is a really good addition.

SMS payment is important for me also, as all included in Jamit JB modules are not possible to use in my country. I’m almost finished with translation, but can not publish the site to web only by the reason of payments impossibility. Support services from some SMS billing systems do not like to make any steps to help me. Theirs explanation is only free scripts they will support. I can not see also any enthusiasm from freelancers – I made few orders but without result, all unsuccessful. So, I’m in search of sms module and will continue between freelancers. Will report here about final Smiley

It is a great way to enhance the payment methods, and it will also make payments quicker safer and many people will use it for sure?
Is it coming any time soon?

Numerous of companies provide sms payment services. Sms billing very popular and useful system for any job search projects.
Adam, you can check, for example, http://smscoin.net or http://mobilcent.com – popular sms billing providers. Support of above sms billing systems asking so many questions about integration of their systems to JJB, and only you, probably, can deal with them. SMS billing will really help to many of your customers to decide problem with micro-payments, but only need professional level communication with supports.
So, we have two examples: http://smscoin.net and http://mobilcent.com and support promises easy way to integrate their systems.
http://smscoin.net – possible to use at more than 70 countries – looks like the best what we need, isn’t it?
