Imran - do you think mindcrackers will help maintain jamit apart from offering migrations?

I did not speak with them regarding maintaining jamit, but they certainly will help in migrating.
I'm going to migrate to SJB in couple of months after making things suitable for migration, as we all know jamit is going to die slowly without updates/maintenance.

I purchased and installed SJB 4.1, Here some of pitfalls that I noticed, with a critical mind.
1) Not well optimized for SEO
2) Searched string and search result pages does not have option to include search title, Keywords and description. This will result in duplicate content/title/description/keywords pages.
3) Even the employer/company page has seo deficiency
4) It needs a plugin for SEO
5) The urls for company/job browse/ search result pages can be changed bu it needs to be edited in template _System files also.

But the system is very good has lot of very important features and I'm excited about it, It will take maybe couple of months for me to set it up properly for my liking.

Edit: Actually SJB is much easier to modify, I started reading the Tutorials and forum, it is easy to customise. I spoke a bit early above.

I strongly suggest smart job board to those who dont have large data to migrate. There is just no comparison; Jamit was a good moment. Of old times

best! Nikos

I do really appreciate if some one can share their experience of migrating to SmartJobBoard - I called them up they said they have external development team that can migrate Jamit - Did any one use them? Also, any missing features that you have in Jamit but dont' have it in SmartJobBoard ?

I'm in process of migrating, but before that I want to set up things properly,.

Almost all features are there you need to setup that way, need to customise to match your current installation.

SmartJobBoard is definitely the best value for money solution available right now. I have been running a small site on SJB (version 3.4) for over a year now and am busy experimenting with the new SJB version 4.1 on a demo site.

I am very happy with the SJB software.

I have not migrated my Jamit site over to SJB yet mainly because I have a large database and am still not 100% certain if it is possible. Has anyone else migrated a Jamit database over to SJB successfully?

SJB is in the process of migrating my site from Jamit to SJB, so far it has been a pleasure dealing with Sidney. I will keep everyone updated when the migration is complete and I have had time to check it out. I will let you all know in about 2 weeks how it went
