eMail Daily Job Alerts

Is there a way to set up more than one daily alert? I'd like a user to be able to create an alert, name it and save it. Then, (s)he could choose to edit/delete that one or create a new one with new/different search criteria. That way, if (s)he's interested in a couple different job/category types, (s)he could have as many alerts as desired being sent out.
Additionally, I think it would be optimal to allow the candidate to choose when he would like to be alerted: daily, weekly, bi-weekly?
Any ideas about how to accomplish this?
Thanks,
T
